Funky Mail Window

Hello:

I have a 2 questions pertianing to Mail on my G4 Powerbook, running OS 10.4.8

1. Mail takes a very long time to open. Whle I don't get a spinning ball, it just takes is time and then finally opens.

2. When I view any of my mail boxes, all I see is a complete listing of whatever is in them, with no small pane below so that I can view the selected message. I don't have the small dot thing in the center bottom of the window so I can move it up and down to view the selected message.

You sage advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jonathan

Try reseting Mail by moving the Mail plist, com.apple.mail.plist, located in /Users/<you>/Library/Preferences/, to the desktop.

Thanks.

Moving the old mail plist out of preferences solved the window problem but Mail still takes it's lazy old time to open on my Powerbook.

Thanks for you rhelp

I hav a total of 600 or so messages distributed between 28 mailboxes. My trash/deleted mailbox is empty as is my junk mailbox.

Thanks

Jonathan

Well, there goes that theory. :p
Not enough email messages to make a difference. I'm nearing 3000 mail messages in about 20 mailboxes, with a mix of pop and imap accounts.
Any mail plugins?
