G3 Ibook Trackpad Frozen

Hi, iBook two and half years old, never had this problem before. Cursor stuck in top left corner after numerous restarts. Luckily USB mouse works but considering I rarely use mac at a table/desk this is not good. Search of Apple support base does not help. Anybody got any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same iBook.

My solution is to put the computer to sleep, wait a while, then hit the trackpad/button. If it wakes up, it worked. If not, repeat until it does. Sometimes takes a couple of goes. After you restart you'll probably have the same problem.
 
Thanks gentlemen. I was having this same problem - again - for perhaps the 3rd time with this iBook...and floundered my way, into this forum. I've now joined (I go back to 1986 with Macintosh equipment).

The putting the machine to sleep and disconnecting the mouse - and restarting... did the trick!! Thank you very much! Another important bit of information I can pass along to anyone else who encounters this problem!! :D Ms. Chance
