G3 Modem Help!!

Ok I had os 10.0.3 on the powerbook wallstreet g3 and the modem worked. Today I updated to 10.1.1 and when I try to connect to the internet using the modem it says modem error check your settings, I did that and it still will not connect. Tonight im going to download 10.1.5 update and see if that works but its going to take 6 hours to download because of dial up. So if any body knows how to get the modem to connect it would be grately appreated.

Its a Powerbook G3 266mhz, 192ram, 6gb HD, os x 10.1.1.

Have you tried trashing the modem preferences in /Library? It should be listed as a .plist file or a folder referring to the modem preferences. This is a hunch...I haven't tried it so it's nothing written in stone. Have you also checked your modem settings to make sure it's set to the proper modem?
