G3 SCSI drive - Can it be moved to a Windoze box?

My wife's G3 MiniTower died last month. Old tower with a SCSI card and Hard disk. I had put another drive in it with OSX 10.2 in one partition and then divied up the new drive with a couple of other partitions so she and my son could keep their files on there. The SCSI HD has os9.2.2 on it and occasionally it would get used.

So the tower died. I removed the newer disk, stuck it in to a USB external HD drive enclosure and I can see all the files (via a titanium powerbook). But the files my wife needs is not on this disk - turns out she created a folder on the SCSI HD.

So. I don't have access to any older G3s at the moment. I do have an old windows box I just put Windows Server 2003 on it and also Mac file system support.

My questions are a) can I take the SCSI card out of the G3 and put it into a pci slot on the windows box without fragging the card, and b) will MS Server 2003 recognize the card, and c) if the card is recognized, if the SCSI drive attached to the card, will MS 2003 be able to see the drive so files can be retrieved?

Or am I just barking up the wrong tree and I'm doomed?

I know this forum may not be the best solution, but if anyone does happen to be able answer this, or point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Mac cards and PC cards require different firmware. It is unlikely that the card from your G3 will work with in your Windows box.

If your Windows box has a SCSI card installed, then it is possible for it to read and write files on the G3's hard drive. However, it will require third-party software to handle the drive's HFS filesystem. The most popular software is MacDrive.

I've since found a G3. No scsi on board - a goodwill special. I'll peruse the forums for moving the scsi from the Beige tower to the G3.
