g3 won't boot

I have a b&w G3 that wont boot for long periods of time
when i have to reboot for some reason, it will not restart, but if i leave it alone for 6 or 7 hours it will start up. i usually push the little round black buttons on the inside right when i try to reboot in an attempt to get it to work, but that seems to not help.
anyone have any suggestions?
 
which OS are you running? 10.3, 10.2, 10.1, 9.x ?

how often do you reboot it?

have you (assuming OS X) fscked it recently? Fixed the permissions / ran e.g. Diskwarrior? Do you leave the machine run or put asleep / switch off for overnight? what kind of maintenance do you do for the system? (or none)?
 
Sounds like the PRAM battery may be dead since you have to press the CUDA switch (that black button inside) so many times... have you tried replacing or testing the PRAM battery?
