G3 won't turn on

I have a '98 (all black) G3 powerbook that I wasn't using for about 2 years and when I went to turn it on today nothing happens. The light on the power supply indicates it is working, but no battery lights come on. I am assuming the battery is dead, but shouldn't it turn on with the power supply even if the battery is dead?

You PMU has most likey died. I have the same laptop and that is what had happened. You can get this part on ebay for around 10.00 to 30.00. They are not that hard to take out and put back in. just get a T8 Driver off of ebay at the same time you will need it. I know.
