G4 400 (AGP) and G4 dual 1.0mhz MDD processors

Hi there. I have a G4 400 (AGP) and G4 dual 1.0mhz MDD . My MDD seem to be damaged. When i turn it on, the red light works on the motherboard, the fan works, but nothing comes to monitor. I think the processor is damaged. Could it be something else? Can i use th old processor from G4 400Mhz(AGP Graphics) to test on the MDD and be shure about the damaged processor on MDD?? Will it boot? Will it damage de Old 400mhz processor???

Denis,
These two G4's models share no interchangeable parts except add on cards and drives. The 400 CPU Bd will not work and damage may occur attempting to install.

Here is what I run through:
- Measure battery voltage. Replace if lower than 3.4v
- Reset PMU
- Pull add on cards. Reseat video card.
- Try diff memory or configurations
- Disconnect cables to drives
- Swap out video card
- Pull heat sink and visually inspect components on the processor. If there are discolored components, replace processor. Otherwise, reseat processor.

On your MDD model, I've replaced more processors than logic boards when units will not work barebones (power supply, logic, CPU, & mem).
