I scrubbed my HD using the hard drive scrubber product. It seemed to go fine. BUT... When I put the HD into my G4-450 mac and attempt to restart it from the OS9 CD, the computer starts up fine from the CD but does not recognize the HD at all.

I've tried every possible configuration of power plugs and ribbon cable and am still at a loss... can you helpppppp?

Thank you ...

Does the "disk utility" control panel see the hard drive at all, for formatting purposes? Presumably the scrubbing software might have not left the required HFS format on the disk, so the OS would not mount the drive. But the disk utility is suppose to see unformatted drives and allow you to do a format.

Under OS 9, this would be the "Drive Setup" application under the "Utilities" folder on the OS 9 Installer CD. You can use "Drive Setup" to create a new partition and format the drive, then the installer should "see" it and it should mount automatically on startup.

Gentlemen... I feel so dumb... The Disc Utility saw it and I initialzed it and am installing my OS at this moment! Success... Thank you so very much.
