Did you Repair the Disk?

No need to use the Verify button, just use the Repair Disk button. You have to be booted off the OS X disc to do this.

i was on my way to get disk warrior and broke a tie rod...needless to say i won't be getting that today...

Boot off your OS disc by holding the C key down.
Under the Utility Menu, (top of screen) open Disk Utility.
Highlight the disk in the left Pane, click the Repair Button on right pane.
