I've been searching all over, and can't seem to find a solution.. and i'm not a mac person, so it makes it harder.
Here are the specs:
Dual G4, 1Ghx, 1.25Gb ram, Boot Rom: 4.3.3f2
The OSX version is 10.3.8 (7U16)
When I power the system, the startup chime "hisses" and sounds like the speaker or audio is corrupt... it will then startup and I can login, but after a few minutes, the computer hangs. There is no keyboard or mouse input and the system just sits there and the clock even stops, but the video is still getting sent to the monitor.
I've tried to re-install the OS, but as it's installing, it freezes before getting anywhere.
I've reset the PRam a few ways...
1. I've taken out the battery and left it out overnight.
2. I've held the button down by the battery for 5 minutes...
3. I've held down command-option-p-r and waited for it to cycle 3 times while it was "zapping" the pram.
Nothing has worked, and I can't seem to find a potential solution anywhere on the web.
