G4 freezing on startup at windows login

My G4 running OSX 3.9 is freezing on startup at windows login. This just happened suddenly after I installed and was using Nikon Scan 4 with a Nikon LS-4000 slide scanner. I'm wondering if low disk space is an issue I think I had 2 Gigs left.
I tried booting off the system disk but it gave me an improper key length error and said that the hardware could not be repaired.

Help!

Get Diskwarrior;

and see if that will correct the problem or reformat the drive.

Start Up In Single Users Mode By Holding Commad (apple) & S At Start Up Then Type.

Fsck -y -f

LET THE COMPUTER DUE ITS THING THE TYPE REBOOT.
