Can i hook up a monitor and keyboard and mouse to my powerbook and shut the powerbook without it going to sleep?

because my display suffered an unfortunate occurance and its just flops around unless something is behind it to lean on

Sorry about that bud.... I'm not an expert on this topic, but logic is telling me that you should either get this puppy repaired, or junk the screen and make it a desktop computer. If the built in screen is damaged to the point of not working, then the portability of the machine is pretty much pointless. If the screen still works however, I highly suggest that you just bite the bullet and get it repaired.
Also,
If then screen is broken but you don't want to make your laptop a desktop, you could get a replacement screen installed.

i do plan on having it repaired but until i send it away i want to have a bonding experience with it
