Thank you so much in advance for anyone that can help me sort this out.
So the other day I had a normal update queue that was for a security update and Microsoft office I think.

After the update was complete it restarted the computer for me and on its restart the progress bar stopped. I left the computer for a few hours and came back to find it was still stuck. I then turned off the computer only to start it up again to the same predicament.

It stops either at connecting to local printer networks, internet preferences, or something close to those steps in boot up. I used the disk utility and apparently everything is fine, but I went ahead and chose to repair both the disk and preferences.

I also CAN boot in safe mode, but when I restart the computer from there it keeps me stuck on the last 3% left in the progress bar.

FYI, this is a 12in 1.33 GHZ powerbook with 1.25 G ram

Any help would be good help! Thanks a million!

David

I assume you forgot to Repair Permissions before installing the update?

I would try running DiskWarrior first. That usually sorts out minor problems. If you have any important files, back them up first!

when i ran the disk utility from the apple restore CD, i did run the disk repair as well as the permissions repair. There were a few that it repaired but i still am having the same problem
