Hello
I have a G4 powermac tower plugged into a router with 2 other computers (windows) that have internet. The G4 all of the sudden lost connectivity, I never had an issue with it before. When I plug the ethernet cable into the back of the G4 (hardwired), there is no data light coming from the back. the Linksys routher shows a green light. Now, I went out and bought one a USB Ethernet to plug in, (thinking my NIC is gone) installed the driver, no connectivity but showing a data light.
I tried all the usual troubleshooting. Cannot ping says "no route to host".
On the Network icon, it shows Built-in ethernet and also when I have the USB ethernet adapter in, shows it on the network port configuration. But cannot get internet to the G4. I've had connectivity for years in the same house and on the linksys with my other 2 windows PCs.
SHould I try reinstalling my OS, (10.4.1) or would that not have any positive outcome?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Rob
