G4 Sawtooth graphics upgrade opinions sought

I am ready to replace ATI 128 Rage graphics card in my G4 Sawtooth, currently running a Sonnet 1.2 GHz processor, 1 gig ram, and OS 10.4.7. My budget is $50-100. I'm looking for decent graphics and 3D performance, but I'm realistic too. I know there's only so much this system will ever be able to deliver. What do you folks think of the ATI Radeon 8500 Mac Edition 64 MB card? How about the ATI Radeon 9200 128MB AGP card? The 9200s I've seen on Ebay are PC cards that have had their firmware "professionally" flashed and "fully tested". Are these cards risky? Are there are other cards I should consider?

Thanks!
Martin

Stay away from "flashed" cards. While you may not experience any trouble with them, there's no warranty should something go wrong, and sometimes (more often than rarely) they don't work 100%.

Just my $0.02.

i'd see what owc has for your mac. its nice because you enter in what mac you have, and then it'll list what upgrades there are for it.

I'd like to stick with AGP, but there aren't many options for new AGP 2X cards. The only AGP 2X compatible card that OWC carries is the Radeon 9800, but it's out of my price range at $259. It's beginning to look like the 8500 is my best bet. Any other ideas?
