G5 1.8 Ghz Single

Hi Guys,

I have a G5 1.8 Hz single processor and I am running Mac OS X 10.3.9. I am experiencing a few problems since I brought the machine a while back.

When I try and put the machine to shut down or restart, nothing happens! so I end up having to turn the machine off by the front by holding the button down for 5 seconds which can't be good for the machine. This happens the majority of the time but sometimes it is OK, can you advise me if you have experienced this before or if it could be a fault with the machine. I also thought it could be an application clashing.

does it just not do anything when you select the option out of the menu? or does it start trying to shut programs down?
