Hi,

I bought a used G5 this is my first time using a mac, I installed the drivers then removed the original graphics card and installed a ATI.

I want to run 2 monitors- so when I booted the system and plugged the two monitors, only one of my screens loaded and it showed the background of my OS. My mouse would move off the screen- so it felt as if I was on the 2nd screen. But the other screen would not load (and it was on).

How do I properly set this up?

... but was it a Mac video card you upgraded to?

Also, you may need BOTH cards installed to run two monitors if they do not explicitly support driving multiple monitors.

Why did you start a new thread with your same issue?

Did you try swapping the display cables at the video card?
Can you get each display to work on each port? Connect only one display at a time, then swap that display to the other port.

Can't you connect both displays to your original card?
All original vid cards in a PowerMac G5 would support dual displays. The original standard nVidia FX5200 isn't a really high end card, but does support dual displays with the right adapters.
What ports are on your original card? probably one DVI, and one ADC connector?
