This dual 1.8 ran flawlessly until last night... Son worked thru the day in Flash, left it running went for a break...came back and the cursor moved as expected but no interaction with folders, HD, etc... restarted and it just spun...started up from Alsoft DiskWarrior 4.1 CD and it starts to rebuild the directory, but only gets to step 5, "locating directory data" and stays in that mode 4ever...
Green check: "currently being rebuilt"
"Disk appears to be os extended"
"Disk does not appear on desktop"
"Disk is 76.21gb in size"

Restarted this morning destop appears but can't drag from folders or save to external drive and than just gets worse until it's useless, HELP!

Have you sacrificed a virgin?

:)

Right, calm down. Been there. Survived.

First: Post your complete machine details.

Second: Did you back up all your data to your Ex-HD? If you did not . . . we will get back to that.

Third: Try booting with your Installation Disk and seeing if you can see your HD and repair your volume. If you cannot, your volume may be frelled beyond hope. Hold that thought. You could also have a dying HD, but that would not explain why you could start up.

Fourth: Try using DW to create an image of your HD. This is the ONE fantastic feature of DW. Burn that if you can or try to send THAT to the Ex-HD. This is to save your data. Once you do that, it just may be easier to wipe and then re-install your OS.

Okay . . . let us see where that takes you.
