And 640 K should be plenty for anyone, right?

Computers won't get faster than people until they become artificially intelligent. They will always work more slowly than you want them to because the software you use at the time will be more demanding on the system than ever before. However, at this point, the G5 is plenty powerful to handle whatever you can throw at it now, though I would love to see what they come up with in 2-3 years to bring it to a crawl.

They're not fast enough to simulate that realtime 3D environment I want or render my one-million DPI files instantly
