game ranger how to?

As far as I know, Game Ranger will not work with OSX.I have been able to use Game Ranger to connect to the network while in Classic... but hosting or even connecting to a game does not work.
As soon as Game Ranger (in classic) has to dish off requests to Age of the Empires (in osx) there seems to be a stall.
This isn't talked about much, but it is an old problem. I would think that Game Ranger or someone on that network would make it known, that this problem exists.
I solve the problem, by simply restarting in os9 and playing that version of Age of the Empires/Game Ranger.
