GarageBand: how to emulate Kurt Cobain's voice

What instrument and setup would you use to emulate Kurt Cobain's voice.

My best result was with the Big Electric Lead Guitar, suppressing the Echo.

Who has a better approximation ?

I assume you're trying to do a Nirvana cover? Find someone who sounds like him or just fudge it. I don't think you can really emulate his voice well with effects...

I found a good "voice" using the strings with guitar amplifiers. Not perfect, but interesting.

I'm not trying to copy him, I just want to get the feeling of his voice.
 
Ok, sarcasm aside. I'd have to play with GB, but off the top of my head, I wonder if some southern rock guitar would work. Dark and with distortion.

You could also import a Nirvana track, maybe something from the unplugged shows and use the actual vocals as a test template. Find the sound that goes best.
