Hi,
I purchased, and installed os X 10.5.4 for someone, on their ibook G4. They specifically wanted the HDD wiped, and started from scratch. (I do however have a backup of the old system using superduper).
Originally the laptop ran Panther, and it came with MS Office 2004, and Photoshop Elements.
The only CDs they had were 2 grey system restore CDs, so I ran those, and installed some of the old software, like GarageBand etc.
The problem is, I also need to get back Office 2004 and Photoshop Elements, but these obviously did not come on those 2 grey CDs.
Does anyone know if the owner should have received seperate Office/Photoshop CDs when they bought the laptop? They obviously paid for the license, since the software came with the laptop.
Any idea what I can do to get these reinstalled? Is there any chance the install image is stored somewhere within the files I backed up with superduper? Or that I can simply copy the file(s) from the "applications" folder?
I'm not a regular mac user, so I don't know how easy (or possible) it is to just copy an application to the new system... I know it'd be next to impossible to 'copy' office to a new PC running Windows, due to all the registry settings, but I'm assuming a Mac doesn't use a "registry".
Thanks for any help.
