what used to be taken care of by deleting preferences--does disk utility do the job in os 10.4.11? or can I still delete preferences?

I have a nice utility called Macaroni, which does the daily, weekly, and monthly disk maintenance tasks regardless of when the computer is on, off, or sleeping. It is not free, but to me it was worth the price. If you do not like the idea of plists being left behind when you uninstall applications, you can get Appzapper (also not free, but reasonable) to zap the whole works for you.

You can delete preferences okay and they will just create new prefence files.--DON'T DELETE PREFERENCE PANES. Thats where you will run into problems. My experience----
