inkjet printers are cheap, but the ink cartridges aren't. as if that's not enough, you actually never get to print the full out of your cartridge, 'caus their chip monitors the amount of pages you print. so i'd like to know whether there is any app that actually lets you get the most out of your ink cartridge (litterally), and not just the quantity HP or EPSON lets you get...

I can't answer your question, sorry about that. But I can tell you that you can get generic ink cartridges that do a terrific job at http://www.store.yahoo.com/inkjetsavings/.
I have used them about 6 months now and have been pleased. Further, right after I started using them I recieved a cartridge that would simply not be recognized by my Epson SP 820...I emailed them and they had me send that one back and sent me another one that worked fine, no questions asked.
Anyway, sorry couldn't do better for you, but you may want to look at it.
