Apparently, although I don't really believe this, I unwittingly forwarded a virus to a PC user. So being the conscientious man I am, I installed Intego's VirusBarrier. A moment of insanity I hear you say?
Problem 1: To get the friggin' thing fully installed I had to install and update/re-boot nine times.
Problem 2: Once installed it caused havoc with /.Library permissions.
I used a variety of measures to correct the problem (disc repair from the original OS installer CD, Onyx, DiscWarrier, Clean Install), but only a complete Erase & Install finally solved the issue. Six hours in all it took to sort it out.
I now have ClamXav installed instead (yea, I know ..).
My 1st question: Does anyone know an on-line therapy service that can provide sympathetic support for a person in my position?
My 2nd question: Would electro-convulsive therapy help prevent me making a similar mistake again in the future?
