Graphics app to do RGB combination?

Is there any graphics application for Intel Mac which can combine greyscale images taken through red, green, and blue filters to make a full-colour image?

Photoshop (with some work).

Yes, I am somewhat familiar with how Photoshop does things like that. It was one heck of a hassle. Surely there must be something else to do RGB combinations, which does not demand that you split monochrome images into R, G, and B channels unnecessarily before you can get anywhere?

Shouldn't be that hard in Photoshop. Open up the channels tab. Go to your 1st greyscale image select all and copy. Click on the Red channel in PS and paste. Repeat for green and blue.

Set up an action and it becomes a one click process. You can even batch it to the contents of a folder. Even faster!
