I think it would be great if :

-one selects a bunch of files. one right clicks (or file menu) and makes a new folder

-the folder automatically engulfs the selected files

It would be oh-so-useful and not hard to do (I think...)

I don't know if that would really save time... but I suppose it would even be more functional when we randomly select files in a non-linear fashion (command + click).

Then you could have a list of 100 files and you could randomly pick 10 files you wanted to distinguish into another directory with one click.

I like it.
