Greek-Mac relation...

hulkaros

The Incredible...
Facts first:
- Greece is a small Apple territory
- Rainbow Computers which is Apple's reseller in Greece does not seem to care if they will get more market share
- Greek magazines do not support Macs except the MacLand which is a new magazine and a bi-montlhy one ;(
- Apple USA does not include Greek support built-in which is DEAD wrong...

Anyway, what I wanted to say is this: Apple MUST make the greek built-in in Jaguar ASAP!

Apple likes to boast that they think different but does "different" means not to support the language that is one of the most ancient and well known among scientists? Or if they don't care about that, what about market share? Greece as a Mac market is virgin and will be virgin FOREVER if Apple will not offer built-in greek language support in Mac OS X.2 (aka Jaguar) because here in Greece Rainbow Computers tries to oppose M$ which has FULL greek support (menus, help, everything) in ALL windows versions with empty hands! So a market of at least 2 million computer users falls into the DARK SIDE... ;(

As for greek web sites this is for you greek people:
www.mac.gr
www.helmug.gr
www.macland.gr

Kalos to paidi :P
Apo pou eisai bre ?

I have talked about this for A LONG time.
Apple doesnt support greek out of the box because up to now they had some sort of "contract" with Rainbow which said that rainbow had the only rights of Greek MacOS distribution, with MacOS X, which is modular in design when it comes to localizations (unlike prevous macOSs) this point is moot since people can make locale files and distribute them freely, so apple is making a greek locale which supposedly is going to be released with 10.2 (euxometha diladi :p)

As for rainbow... when I was there 2 years ago, when the fruity iBooks were out, they were also selling x86 systems! for God's sake!

As for magazines, they reflect the market, if there arent that many people using, then they can make a profit, so they dont make em.
