Does anyone know if I can plug a Griffin iMic to my Beige G3 throug a MacAlly PCI USB adapter?
I read somewhere that I couldn't but, what better than to ask a huge lot of macintosh fans, right?

Well, sure, the iMic should work with a PCI USB card, but why would you? Your beige G3 already has an audio input built-in.

ahhhh! but the i.mic is waaay better as a digital sound input....
and thay claim is capable of doing 24 bit depth.... thats plenty more dynamic range than the mere 16 bits of the built in analog I/O

but isn't the input of the Griffin Mic an analog 16 bit? And it has an output of 24 bit so it doesn't looses any quality.... ?

It may be able to claim 24 bit, but what are you recording TO is the real question. Do you have ProTools or something else? I have SoundEdit16 and it only records in 16 bit, thereby eliminating the 24 bit option.

If you can avoid using two adapters when you already have the interface built in, why get the iMic?

Cheers
