We're using Mac OS X server as our main file server and I have one user who is having trouble with membership in one specific group. When I look at the group members list in the OS X gui, the user is there. But when I run the groups or id -p command from the command line, the group does not appear in the list of groups to which the user belongs. The user does not receive the group permissions in the file system.
I read about the unofficial, undocumented 16 group limit. Would that limit prohibit admission to othe groups?
Any thoughts?
