group songs by album?

Okay, I've had this ipod thingy for years now. It can't be that other people have the same trouble I do. So, help?

If I import songs and then drag them onto my ipod, the result is a jumble of songs sorted by song title. Is there a way to have them grouped by artist/album/track number instead?
 
How are you importing the songs to your iPod? Which iPod are you using? Are you using iTunes to import your songs? I have iPod and mine is all ordered properly by album...

Aha! Thanks. Yes, I'm using itunes. I have a 1GB ipod from 5 years ago I think.

I had "Songs" selected in the ipod. Selecting "Albums" does what I was looking for. My teacher is wrong, there are stupid questions.
