Introduction

Have you ever made an Automator script that you think might be useful for someone else? I know so many of us don't use Automator, Applescript or other useful automation utilities built into OS X, that we really have no idea what we are missing out on.

My goal in setting up this forum is so that we can share not the applications we build, and in hopes that it would encourage others to dive into these useful utilities and scripts, and spawn even better approaches and new ideas, and thus, even more scripts to share.

Posting Guidelines:

When sharing a script you have made, be sure to include a full description of what it does, and any "assumed" settings that the script assumes. If sharing a script, you MUST upload the ".script" file, and would be helpful to upload the ".app" version as well, but this is not required. The ".app" version would allow people to download and run as-is, while the ".script" version would allow users to modify the script to their liking, and perhaps add to it and upload any modifications they made that might be helpful for others.

Please Compress any files before uploading, using the "Compress" or "Archive" feature in OS X.

When posting a new thread and posting a script, be sure and PREFIX the title of your posting with [AUTOMATOR], [APPLESCRIPT], or [SHELL].

Support Guidelines:

For general support on writing scripts or modifying posted scripts, feel free to use this forum to post general related threads or reply to threads that reference a particular script. Those who upload scripts are NOT required to support them, although it would be nice if they would.

WORD OF CAUTION

WE DO NOT PREVIEW POSTED SCRIPTS PRIOR TO BEING PUBLISHED. IT COULD BE POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO MAKE A SCRIPT THAT DOES BAD THINGS. WHILE THIS HAS YET TO HAPPEN, IT IS POSSIBLE. USE CAUTION WHEN BLINDLY RUNNING ANY SCRIPT FROM MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT WELL ESTABLISHED OR HAVE NO RESPONSES.

IF YOU RUN A SCRIPT AND FIND IT TO WORK AS DESIGNED, BE SURE AND POST A FOLLOW-UP TO THE THREAD/SCRIPT TO LET OTHERS KNOW.
