Ha! MUG posted to Apple's Mac OS X Downloads page!

gosh SimX, it is great to see you getting out and utilizing more of the site. but i really believe this one deserves to be in hot topics. congratulations to you. i have to admit that my quick try of it tells me i like it.

but on a non tech note - i think i have figured out why apple hasn't added all these kinds of things to osx. all you 'nix developer types are too damn happy to do the work for them. let's face it, if apple had put in all the features that everybody wants, there would probably be less fans of osx so far.:D

seriously - good job:)

Just the ticket - not knowing what was happening with my memory was one of the things that pissed me off with X untill now - nice one! (it joins WindowShade in my list of 'must have' apps).

Bernie )

Just tried downloading it, and I get this when I launch (pic attached).
Then whan I click on a panell to switch panes, I get an applescript error:

The variable upapptabdisplayed is not defined. (-2753)

Still occurs after a reboot. I'm on 10.1.3. on a DP800MHz G4. Problem still occurs when I have quit all programs, including classic, and after reboot.

bighairydog: Hmm. That's weird. That shouldn't happen. Do you have the command line commands "vm_stat", "ps -aux", and "tr -s" installed? Simply open up the terminals and type those commands to see if you have them.

Other than that, when you open it up, try refreshing instead of switching tabs. Maybe that will clear the problem up. You might also want to delete the file "Memory Usage Getter Prefs" in the folder ~/Library, to see if somehow the prefs got corrupted.

blingbling: Yes, I created MUG. :)

googol: There's actually a submission thing you can go through to add your app to their page (and to the Software section of the iDisk). I'm going to fill out the agreement and stuff so MUG will appear on your iDisk, but I've got a lot of other stuff to tend to before I do that. But nonetheless, Apple has the right not to post something, so I guess they thought it was notable enough. :)

Ed: I still don't approve of the decentralizing of MacOSX.com, and I probably won't be posting in this forum a lot, except for in this thread.

Damn. I just can't get over how far within the core of the Mac community this site is.

We got in appleturns.com, now on Apple's download's, allright!:)

When did we get mentioned in AppleTurns.com?

I know I got mentioned in Viewer Mail personally once (when I was "complaining" that crazyapplerumors.com was offering more daily laughs), and once in a regular episode (do a search for "Simone" in the episodes search... I'll be in one about Apple Retail Stores). :D

I don't remember MacOSX.com being specifically mentioned, though, and I go there every day!

Ha! I remember your letter. Good fun. CARS is funny, but in a goofy, Appleturns seems to be a little more intelligent.

The site wasn't mentioned, rather it was linked to in an article providing an overview for rumors.

Yup, I have all of them.

However, I have no preferences file in the library forder (both MacHD/Library, and Home/Library) perhaps that is the problem?

Have you tested this on Dual processor machines? that's the only difference I can think of that would make my computer odd.
