my iPod had 4.5 gigs left...I just connected it to charge, and it synced something from itunes (I havent added anything since the weekend), and suddenly, I have only 3.97 gigs free. How can I delete my iTunes library from the iPod, and resync it? I have it set up as a firewire HD, but the folders are invisible, and I dont want to screw something up, as I know nothing about that. Thanks

Use the iPod Software Updater from Applications -> Utilities folder. You can then choose the Restore option (I think it's called), it says something like 'restore to factory settings' which will wipe your iPod clean.
Note: this willl also delete all your contacts and calendars, but if they're synched onto your computer, you can just synch the right back.

PS the most recent version is iPod Software 1.3, which is available from Software Update control panel.
if you have your music only in ipod, you might want to restore it first. at some point mine didn't see my ipod musics at all, so i had to copy them with terminal to my hard disk first, and then do the clean install. if you'll decide to do that, i'll guide you with the terminal thing.
