Hard Drive not recognized

Hi there,

I have a MacBook and have been experiencing the spinning wheel of death lately. Yesterday it span for about ten minutes and was frozen, so I had to manually shut down my computer by holding down the power button. When I rebooted it did not make it past the grey screen only to display a blinking folder containing a question mark. I tried booting up from my OSX install disk but my system cannot find my hard drive when I try to repair it in disk utility or even a reinstall.

Am I doomed? Please help.

Sounds like a crashed hard drive. Is the MacBook under warranty? If so, head on down to your local Apple Store or your local Apple Authorized Reseller to have them take a look at it.
 
Chris-don't Know For Sure But Try This--start Up Holding The Shift Key Down-you Will Be Starting In "safe Mode"-if It Starts Up You Can Then Go To System Prefs>startup Disk And Select Proper Hd To Starup With. Good Luck
