Hard Drive problem in Powerbook G4

I have a problem with my hard drive in my Powerbook G4 it clicks like crazy, I've tride putting it in an external drive but it doesnt show up, I beleive its a hard drive controller problem, and I have data on that, anything I can do myself to help?

If it's clicking like crazy (very bad sign, as it means something is HW bad in the drive), and it doesn't show up in an app like Disk Utility, Disk Warrior, or Data Rescue, you're pretty much out of luck unless you want to pay the $$$ for a professional data rescue.
