Hard Drive Trouble

Hi
I'm using g4 quicksilver osx 10.3.9
last week internal hd failed.
disk utility says "invalid node"
osx 10.1 and 10.2 cant repair.
osx 10.3.9 disk utility says it can repair, but:
DiskWarrior (Alsoft) warns that running apple disk utility repair can overwrite important files that diskwarrior can recover.
tried running diskwarrior, but it keeps freezing.
I don't have enough money or time to mail my hd away for data recovery.
s.m.a.r.t.s. sytems says hd is ok (verified),
but important parts of my hd like user and desktop folders are currently inaccessible. Those are exactly the folders where I need to recover important files from. any advice would be helpful.

It sounds like you've got a tad bit of corruption on that drive -- I would recommend reformatting the drive and reinstalling OS X. You can simply restore all your important documents and what-not from your external backup that you make regularly.
