Hardware needed for using Synergy with Windows?

freaky

OSXer
I can no longer use Parallels to get by on running my Windows apps and am looking into using Synergy and getting an el cheapo bottom of the line PC.

Do I need to purchase an ethernet card and speakers or will I be able to access the internet using my Mac's connection to my router and also be able to hear the sounds through my Mac speakers?

Also, which version of Windoze would I need to buy to be view my ASP.NET websites running on the IIS server using Safari and Camino? (hmmmm, Apple's spin the wheel of Vista is coming to mind -- genious commercial btw) They say the business version includes simple networking, whatever the f*&^ that is... If it's on Windoze it can't be simple. ;)

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone?

If anyone's used synergy on their mac with a PC before were you able to access the internet on your PC and also hear sound from it through your Mac speakers?

I have a buddy at work that uses Synergy on his desktop Windows PC and MacBook Pro, but I think he uses it opposite of you -- he's got the PC configured as the "server", so he uses the PC keyboard and mouse to control both machines.

He didn't have speakers hooked up to the PC, so I can't comment on whether he can hear any Mac sounds from the PC, but I'll check first thing Monday morning and report back.
