So I'm having a similar problem as outlined in this previous thread, but made a new one because I have a few differences. I've got a Macbook Pro on OS 10.2 something .

First, my computer started up normally with no problems. I tried to open Firefox and the icon would bounce for a while, and upon a ctrl + click it said it wasn't responding and I force quit it. I tried it again, same thing. I opened up Microsoft Word to see if all applications were giving me grief, but it opened up just fine with no problems. I close word, then try to open Safari, and the same thing happened as with Firefox.
So I restart the computer, and it starts hanging up. It goes through an abnormally long White screen + apple logo + grey spinning wheel process. Eventually it moves on though to the blue background with the grey box saying Mac OS X is starting up with the blue load bar. The blue load bar goes full, but it never moves on from there. At this point I have to hard power-off.
I tried doing the verbose mode and it gave me the disk0s2: oxe0030005 (Undefined) a bunch of times. Then I tried safe-mode starting it and checking the disk as outlined in the above thread. It told me that the hard-disk was working fine (can't remember the exact wordage, sorry, but can run this process again if necessary) and so it didn't auto-fix any problems. However any subsequent restarts take me to the blue window, grey OS loading box screen, and hangs up there. Any ideas? Thank you very much, you guys got a good thing going on here!
