HD mounted but not appearing in Finder

Hi,

my internal RAID (2 HDs mounted in a G5 Jam) somehow dissapeared from the Finder. The icon for the drive does not appear in the sidebar or even in the file browser qwhen i select the MyComputer icon. However, it appears normally in Pathfinder and in the /Volumes Folder. But i can't get to it through the finder or the Open/Save dialog boxes of all programs.

How do i reset the Finder/Siderbar preferences ? I tried dragging the icon from the /Volumes folder for that disk into the Sidebar, but it immediately re-dissapears (i can see it appear for a fraction of a sec in the sidebar then it vanishes again).

Thx for any help on this ...
 
You can relaunch Finder by force quitting it Command-Option-Escape
You reset Finder/Sidebar prefs by trashing the pref files, you can find them in ~/Library/Preferences/ (probably named com.apple.finder.plist & com.apple.sidebarlists.plist)
Logging out and back in may also help if you haven't restarted and/or shut down for a while.
