Help! Cannot open Flash MX

I have a G5 running OS 10 2 8. I have been using Flash MX on it for 2 years. However recently I went to open Flash and it won't whether I try from the application icon or try to open a .fla. I have removed the application and preferences and reinstalled from originally disk twice, but still can't open it. I also have photoshop, dreamweaver, fireworks and others but all are uneffected. I have been on a Flash forum but they thought it was not a problem with Flash but with the OS. I get a crash log at each attempt
which includes

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x000e4000

and along list of threads
any ideas?
 
Hi Potato... don't think it has anything to do with Flash... more to do with individual user settings than anything else...

ie... we have same problem here with two users on one mac... neither Appleworks nor First Class will open for them on this mac... but it will for lots of other users...

I've tried everything I know of... and most tips from these sites

but still haven't found an answer... have deleted everything I can think of from the users folders... but still no luck... don't want to have to reformat the computer cuz I don't think that's the problem... even though one site suggests that bad fonts could be the problem... dunno, sorry I can't hep more

Thanks for reply . I will look at links you suggest. What's odd in my case is that Flash was working and then stopped and I can't think of any changes I have made on my mac for this to happen. Sorry about your probs, I'll let you know if I get any useful info.
