My Windows notebook is able to share the Interenet connection via my old G4/350 machine which is connected to my ISP via Speedtouch USB ADSL modem. The linkage between notebook and Mac is through a crossover ethernet cable. The Internet sharing is permanent once it is started.
The IP for my Mac and notebook is 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2 respectively. Mac OS is Tiger 10.4.2 while notebook is running Windows XP/home
Lately I replaced the G4/350 by a new Mac Mini/1.24GHz. Two problems pop up.
Firstly, without changing any Windows configuration, my notebook can ping and ftp Mac Mini, but whenever the browser starts, it keeps on trying to resolve the URL.
Secondly, I need to restart the Internet sharing setting from Mac Mini very often. At times, the sharing will stop itself.
Any pointers?
