HELP HELP OSX OS9 and PC SERVER

i keep on getting disconnected from a windows 2000 server iam running osx 10.3.9 and also keep on getting the BEACHBALL FROM HELL when i save to the server ( i mean iti does not save i just get disconnected)
 
So... how are you connecting to the server? What protocol are you using? What kind of Mac do you have? What's your network setup?

Please elaborate, as it's nearly impossible to diagnose a situation with what little information you gave.
