HELP: How to install macosx onto brand new hard drive/ powerbook

Good evening guys,

I've just popped a new HD into my powerbook to replace the old one.
Now it's in i have no idea how to install macosx onto it?
Where do i start?

I have hit power and its taken me to installer, i have gone to disk utility and created a partition on the new drive, gone to the installer and followed the instructions until it gets to where you want to install macosx.
It can see my new HD but it has a big red !. Won't let me install on it?

How do i make it work?

You may need to reformat your hard drive as a Mac hard drive. Go back to Disk Utility and select your drive, choose a format (Mac Journaled) and click Format (plus or minus a few steps).
