Help im turning into a nerd

This is probably old hat for Unix gurus out there but I've finally got my little iBook to forward its X11 display to my desktop PC using a combo of Putty and eXceed.

Ive attached a jpg of my PC running the Gimp and xclock from my iBook. The gimp is a lot faster than running VNC, indeed, changes are instantaneous.

Im thouroughly impressed that this works. Incidentally I dont have Apple's X11.app running for this to work much to my surprise.

He he he ... I actually do it the other way: I set up a PC with Linux to run things like the Gimp, then patch it through X11 to my iBook, becuase PCs are cheap and don't tie up the precious resources on my little iBook 500.

Does that make me the Anti-Nerd? :p

I installed Linux to my pc to run all that stuff.. but now i'm 100 % pcfree :D

Hey, did you want to get my attention by complaining you are a nerd.. or what can i do about it? ;)

If you installed linux on your PC, how did that magically make it no longer a PC? It's still a PC, it's just a PC with a different crappy OS on it :)

it IS still a peecee. now it has both win AND linux on it - but i am peeceefree. = i sold it. :D

I have an 8 processor SGI Challenge server, and offten I connect to it to run netscape (of all things :p). It runs it much faster than any osx offerings, although it doesn't render so well (old version of netscape).

Surprisingly, most of my friends don't consider me a geek. Pitty they don't know me better! :D

I sold my WinDoze machine, but still run WinDoze 2000 under Virtual PeeCee...

Does that make me PeeCeeFree or not?

Isn't saying you are a "nerd" or "geek" in the "Darwin: Unix Side of Mac OS X" thread automatically redundant? Doesn't simply reading/posting here make that the case?
