HELP! M$ Excel Question

I'm using M$ Excel in Office X and I'm trying to put up and down arrows into a text box on a chart. In Office 2001, I just went to Word, inserted the symbols, copied and pasted them into the text boxes and I was happy. In Office X Excel, copying and pasting results in either a "Ø" or a "≠". After reviewing the help, the documentation states text boxes and pictures are not saved in user-defined charts. Any suggestions on how to get around this snafu?

Try pasting the copied file as a picture instead of just doing a command-v.

I find that if you copy something and then get these symbols after pasting, you usually have to go back and under edit there is a paste special option that lets you paste as a picture.

Good Luck.

Did you make sure you were using the same font in Word to create the symbols and Excel to display the symbols?

I can't seem to select the font (or don't know how to) in Excel. That's why I did the copy from Word and paste to Excel.
