[HELP]: Mac OS X 10.1.5 and FW Disk

I just added 2 120Gb EIDE WD drives to my machine enclosed in external FireWire cases. Plugged the drives up to my system, Mac OS X recognized them, partitioned them and created Unix file systems on them.

And now, all I see in /var/log/system.log is the following after restarting the system:

> Rereading ROM up to 33 quads
> Found old device 0x0x1123600
> IOFireWireDevice, ROM unchanged 0x0x1123600
> IOFireWireDevice 0x0x1123600, ROM generation zero

The above message repeats itself over and over. Although, some ROM values do change.

I have tried unplugging the drives to see if they will be rerecognized, but I never see the appear again under DISK UTILITY, nor do I see any additional disk listed under /dev/disk*. I see /dev/disk{0,1,2} which are my existing drives. These two devices should appear as disk3 and disk4 I would believe.

Can anyone tell me how to get Mac OS X to rerecognize the drives. THERE IS NO DATA ON THEM, THESE ARE BRAN NEW DRIVES.
