help me help me menu butler duplication

well, now that i've spent countless hours and hours trying to figure this out i now ask for help. How do you eliminate duplicate "MENU BUTLERS" on the dashboard screen? I have attempted a number of things. I now have three of them on the screen. Of course, typing in "menu butler" in spotlight, looking in apps, the computer, etc. does nothing. Typing in "menu butler" on the APPLE support page simply tells you how to download the wondrous thing. How do I get rid of the two dups? Thanks.
 
Go to Dashboard, press alt (or option) and you will see an "X" on upper left corner of the gadget. Press there to close it, and repeat for all other widgets you want to close.
 
thank you thank you thank you. where is that information? can you reference it for me? I'd love to see that on the apple support, apple help - widgets or otherwise - page.
