Help! No Preferance Panes In System Preferences!!!!!!!

Holy lightbulbs, I installed os x on my dad's computer, but it doesn't show the system preferences! This means that I can't reboot into os 9 or anything! I can use classic, that is what i am using right now. If someone can help me out, please do so, this is my dad's buisseness computer! If anything happens to it I am screwed.

Use a boot cd to change the startup disk. And ask before you install anything on anyone's computer.

My dad WANTED os x on this computer, cuz he did't think it would screw up like this. It doesn't show ANYTHING in the system preferences!!!Once that problem is fixed, I can set up appletalk to use my printer, scanner, and connect to other computers!
What do you mean by a boot CD?

Re-install OS X. Did you re-format the drive you were installing it on?

Try just a re-install. That will usually fix any problem.
