I have a G3 500mhz PowerBook (pismo) which is showing it's age. I am considering upgrading the processor and replacing the somewhat dimmed display, but I notice now there is an error listed under diagnostics in the system profiler. I am clueless on what it means (Apple does not have any info on this error) or if should affect any upgrades. The error is as follows:
Power On Self-Test:
Last Run: 8/15/2006 11:34 AM
Result: Failed
Failure Type: External Cache
Now if the external cache is on the processor daughter card then I will be ok replacing just the daughter card when I upgrade, but if it is on the logic board then I am up a confined and moving body of water without a propulsion device (up a creek w/o a paddle)
Any help or guidance will be appreciated
Thanking in advance
